2020 Clarence House Estate Reserve Tempranillo

Clarence House was built in 1830 on land which was originally the market garden for the City of Hobart.  The present owner, David Kilpatrick, first planted vines on the North-East slopes of Clarence Plains in 1998.

The 2020 Reserve Tempranillo was produced by Anna Pooley and Justin Bubb at Pooley Wines.

An infatuation with the great, traditional, age-worthy reds of Spain lead the proprietor to first plant Tempranillo as one of the original varieties at the Clarence House Estate some twenty years ago. Since that time, this unique and rare Tasmanian red has fast gained a cult reputation and dedicated following. Berry fruits and savoury earth/spice notes are complemented by judicious oak characters. Medium-full bodied, considerable flavour and palate intensity, with young, ripe tannins that need time to unfurl. Decanting is highly recommended. Enjoy with Spanish cuisine and red meat dishes.

Available in a 12 bottle case at a special discounted price of $480.
